What is ISI?
Indian Standards Institution: ISI enforces regulation in product quality and standardization with clearly specified procedural safeguards in the food industry.
Documents required to get ISI certification are
~KYC documents of the applicant- Identity proof with residential address proof is mandatory (Aadhar card).
~ Certificate of Insurance.
~ MSME and GST documents as proof regarding the address of the manufacturing unit.
~ List all the machinery with its model number, making and output capacity.
~ A list of testing equipment to check the water in the manufacturing unit and calibration data and test clause for which the chemicals are being used.
~ A detailed report on layout plan, including production area, testing area, entrance, exit etc.
~ Documents of all the brands- In case the company does job work for other brands, the applicant has to submit trademark certificate of all the brands (if registered)
~ Test reports of raw materials in the manufacturing unit are to be submitted.
What is FSSAI?
India’s food Standards and Safety Authority is the supreme authority regulating and assessing the food department to maintain safety for consumers. A pre-determined set of documents are required to obtain an FSSAI license. There are two variants based on the company’s turnover-
State FSSAI License: Companies having a turnover of 12 lakhs-20 crores are eligible to register for a State-level FSSAI license.
Documents required to obtain State FSSAI License for mineral water plant-
– Rental agreement of company premises.
– Identity proof of the owner.
– Government Registration Certificates such as (Company Incorporation Certificate/Firm Registration/Partnership Deed/Pan card/GST Registration Number/Shop and Establishment Registration/Trade License)If the applicant is a private limited company or in a partnership firm, documents such as MOA, AOA or a copy of the Partnership Deed should be provided.
– To apply for a state license, any one of the following certificates is compulsory (Trade license/Shop and Establishment Registration/Panchayat License/Corporation License/Municipality License).
– Nature of business.
– FSSAI declaration form.
* In case you are applying for an FSSAI license in the capacity of a Manufacturer or Repacker, kindly arrange below-mentioned documents-
– Photos of manufacturing unit.
– Layout plan.
– A report on machinery details.
– Product details on company letterhead.
- Central FSSAI License: Companies having a turnover of more than 20 crores are eligible to apply for Central FSSAI License.
~Documents required to obtain Central FSSAI License for mineral water plant business-
– Rental agreement of company premises.
– Identity proof of the owner.
– Government Registration Certificates such as (Company Incorporation Certificate/Firm Registration/Partnership Deed/Pan card/GST Registration Number/Shop and Establishment Registration/Trade License)
-If the applicant is a private limited company or in a partnership firm, documents such as MOA, AOA or a copy of the Partnership Deed should be provided.
– Import Export Code Certificate (Applicable in the category of import-export)
– Company letterhead should provide an Authority letterhead in the applicant’s name, stating that they are authorized to file an FSSAI application.
